I have a few updates that I need to catch up on so bear with me.
-
I uploaded a collection of prop models that I created during my time working at the Department of Nation Defense. I found it refreshing creating some fast simple models for developement purposes. I was able to spend some time and get some practice in with sculpting with was excellent.
-
Updated my location and resume on the site to show my new location in Montreal!
-
Corrected some issues with some of my past uploaded content.
-
Condensed some of the Texture Sheet section. I'm still not sure if I'm going to go with a different way of displaying them or not. I shall think on this some more... *pondering*
-
I am still collecting and arranging material for a new section 'Other Works' that will host the Tactic School Hall of Valour project I worked on and any other non-3D related things that crop up in the future.
Febuary 21 2013
My work on the C7 A2 was approved for portfolio use. This project was interesting since it was being used for simulation purposes and needed to have practically all the components and function. I also expanded upon my understanding of the relationship between baking normals, smoothing groups and UV seams.

Nothing mind blowing, sorry. Just updated the Texture Sheet section to include previous works.
April 6 2012 (Website 2.0)
I have given my website a complete overhaul and switched it from a flash based to HTML5. I have to say it was a good exercise in completely letting go of an existing design due to hardware/tool limitations and starting from scratch.
All in all I am happy with how it turned out :D

Brought to a close my Heating Plant project today after working with it off and on for four months. It's not perfect but it's a step in the right direction and taught me a lot.

Hardware limitations can impeed your work. Pipelining and scope must take this into account and adjust accordingly when it can.
-
Nothing can replace the quality of baked normal maps and ambient occlusion maps from highpoly models.
-
Placing finished assets in the scene helps visualize your scene and can give ideas.
-
Planning a scene from models and textures to lights and colours will make life easier later when you try bringing everything together.
-
Draw it. If you don't know what you really want draw it out, at the least it'll tell you what you don't want.
-
Specular maps are one of the under appreciation aspects to a 3D scene and can impact every single aspect of the way it looks and feels.

First modular building set completed and I can't count the number of things I've learned through this endevour. I had no idea how large an impact lightmaps could have on a model.

Contact info has been updated.
June 18 2011
After some setbacks I'm ready to start loading my drawings to the site. I'm looking at a few ideas for my next project but I'd like to do more modular work so I'll have to see if I can work it in.
June 6 2011
The website is officially up and I'm starting to upload my content. My current project is nearing completion and I look forward to adding it soon.
